Password generator
Generate strong random passwords with your browser's secure random generator. Choose length and character sets; see the strength in bits.
Strength: Very strong (104 bits)
How it works
Passwords are generated with crypto.getRandomValues, the browser's cryptographically secure random source, and never leave this page.
Strength is the entropy in bits: length × log2(size of the character set). 80 bits or more resists offline guessing; 16 random characters from all four sets give about 105 bits.
Questions
- Is it safe to generate passwords online?
- Here, yes: nothing is sent to a server. You can disconnect from the internet and it still works.
- What does "avoid look-alikes" do?
- It leaves out characters that are easy to confuse when typed by hand: 0 O o, 1 l I and |.
